Abstract

Book review

Before the reader is a collective monograph whose publishing follows the premiere of opera Priest Cira and Priest Spira (Pop Ćira i pop Spira) written by academic Dejan Despić. The collective monograph is issued by both Cultural Centre of Vojvodina Miloš Crnjanski (Novi Sad) and Serbian Musicological Society (Belgrade) and it contains the insights into different aspects of Despić’s opera Priest Cira and Priest Spira.

Author Biography

Monika Novaković, PhD student University of Arts in Belgrade Department of Musicology, Faculty of Music; Junior Researcher, Institute of Musicology, SASA Belgrade

Monika Novaković is a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Musicology of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and a Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Music, University of Arts, Belgrade, Serbia. She completed her B.A. and M.A. studies in Musicology at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. Besides her research in a broad spectrum of topics related to domestic authors (Petar Krančević, Zoran Erić, Svetislav Božić, Zoran Simjanović) and foreign ones (Karlheinz Stockhausen, Edgard Varèse), her professional interest is centred on film and theatre/incidental music.
