Marija Tomić, Junior Researcher, PhD Candidate, University of Arts in Belgrade, Faculty of Music Department of Musicology

Marija Tomić (1989) is a PhD Candidate, Junior Researcher and Teaching Associate at the Department of Musicology of the Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade (Serbia). Previously she has completed BA and MA studies at the Department of Flute of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš (Serbia), which defined her primary field of research interest: (Serbian) flute art, including (contemporary) works, performance, and pedagogy. She has authored a number of papers published in proceedings of scientific forums and conferences, as well as in journals. Marija Tomić was awarded from the Vlastimir Peričić fund for the best master paper defended at the Department of Musicology during the academic year 2017/18. Currently, she is writing her PhD thesis titled Transpositions of the Myth of Pan in European and Serbian Twentieth-Century Music: Generic Relations and Stylistic Contextualization, under the supervisor of Professor Ana Stefanović, PhD.
